Packing for a cesarean birth is a little different. You’ll likely stay in the hospital longer, need more comfort-focused items, and benefit from small things that honor your healing—physically and emotionally.
Here’s what to bring to the hospital for a gentle, supported cesarean birth:
👜 Essentials for You
Loose robe or nightgown that won’t press on your belly
High-waisted underwear or mesh panties
Supportive nursing bras
Non-slip socks, slippers
Long phone charger
Toiletries (face wipes, moisturizer, deodorant, lip balm)
Peppermint oil for nausea
Extra pillow (use your own pillowcase so it doesn’t get lost)
👶 For Baby
Two outfits (NB and 0–3m)
Hat + blanket
Car seat installed in advance
Swaddle or onesie for skin-to-skin
🤍 For Emotional & Cultural Care
Prayer cloth, affirmation card, or photo of a loved one
Satin bonnet or headwrap
Printed birth plan
Journal for notes or birth story
Music playlist (bring headphones)
💕 For Your Partner or Support Person
Change of clothes
Toiletries and snacks
Water bottle
Blanket or hoodie
Book/device for downtime
🧷 Bonus Tip:
Pack early. Even if you're not planning a cesarean, you’ll be glad you were prepared. A ready bag = less stress, more peace.
