Ravae Sinclair

Ravae is a highly experienced birth worker with a rich history spanning two decades, during which she has personally served as the birth doula to over 800 families. Holding numerous certifications, including those of a birth doula, postpartum doula, certified childbirth educator, and certified lactation counselor (CLC), Ravae's multifaceted expertise has made her a prominent figure in the field.

With a strong foundation in leadership, Ravae has dedicated a significant portion of her career to serving birth-related organizations. She has contributed eight years of valuable board service to DONA International, six years of commitment to Lamaze International, and three years of direct support to March for Moms. This extensive leadership experience has further enriched her understanding of maternal and perinatal care.

Beyond her roles in maternal and perinatal care, Ravae boasts a legal background as a licensed attorney having served 7 years as a Public Defender- championing justice for indigent clients. It was the early days as a PD, connecting the community with resources and helping people get on their feet, that solidified her work with the law and birth. Ravae’s current impact extends across the United States, where she leads three boutique doula groups situated in Atlanta, North Dallas, and Washington D.C. Her unwavering commitment to maternal health and support has been pivotal in these regions.

As a trailblazer in the birth world, Ravae is the visionary founder of Birth Connections Global, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving maternal healthcare by supporting doula groups to establish their birth organizational structure, strategic planning, collaborative networking, and resource-sharing. By providing the essential tools for success, doulas, and organizations benefit from the development of mentorship programs, skill development sessions, and access to a global network, all curated to elevate the collective's influence. With a focus on inclusivity, diversity, and community, Birth Connections Global’s support paves the way for a stronger, interconnected future in the field of maternal care.

Ravae is also the driving force behind the National Birth & Postpartum Professionals group, an association uniting perinatal health professionals from various disciplines through advocacy, continuing education, and networking.

Her dedication to creating positive change is further evident through her roles as a board member in organizations such as the National Association to Advance Black Birth (NAABB), Iowa Black Doula Collective (IBDC), and Health in the Hood. Ravae's commitment to mentorship and support extends to fellow birth workers, where she acts as a mentor and coach. She facilitates essential discussions on diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizations, offering valuable family-centered legal guidance to those intentionally expanding their families.
